The court ruled that a partnership agreement regarding a start-up company is valid even if it is not made in writing

The Tel Aviv District Court has recently ruled in a dispute that arose between the founders of a start-up venture who did not formalize their relationship in a written agreement, and did not create a mechanism for establishing a joint business.

The plaintiff filed a lawsuit against the founder of the start-up, claiming that he founded the venture together with the defendant, and that on the basis of oral agreements between the parties, he is entitled to 10% of the company shares as well as management rights. The defendant has denied the existence of a partnership agreement and argued that the plaintiff worked on the venture voluntarily, as his friend.
