Our Practice

EBN is a leading firm in Israel in the practice area of insolvency & restructuring. We have vast experience and expertise in handling a wide range of matters involving creditors’ rights, including, bankruptcy, liquidation and reorganization proceedings, receivership proceedings, creditors’ arrangements, corporate restructuring, loan and debt restructuring and acquisition of financially distressed companies.

Our practice focuses on complex insolvency & restructuring matters which require interdisciplinary expertise and in-depth knowledge of multiple adjacent practice areas, such as corporate finance and banking, securities and capital markets, corporate law and litigation.

The partners in the insolvency & restructuring department have long term and on-going relationships with all the major players in this industry, including banks, major Israeli financial institutions, trust companies representing bondholders and the Official State Receiver. In addition, our team is routinely appointed by the courts or by creditors to serve as special managers, liquidators, receivers or trustees in various insolvency and reorganization cases.


Representative Experience

  • IDB Group – representation of the purchaser of Israel’s largest conglomerate, in the framework of insolvency proceedings initiated against the top company of the group. The proceedings included a restructuring of debt in a total amount of approximately NIS 2 billion.
  • Blue Square Group – representation of the purchaser of a distressed group of companies, including restructuring of debts in a total amount of approximately NIS 1.2 billion.
  • Elbit Imaging – representation of bondholders of a major holding company in connection with a creditors’ arrangement and a restructuring of a debt of NIS 2 billion following litigation.
  • Kardan N.V. – representation of bondholders of a major real estate company in connection with a creditors’ arrangement and a restructuring of a debt of NIS 2 billion in a major real estate company.
  • Delek Real Estate – representation of bondholders of a major real estate company holding debt in connection with a creditors’ arrangement and a restructuring of a debt of NIS 1.5 billion following litigation.
  • Israel Petrochemical Enterprises – representation of bondholders of a major holding company in connection with a creditors’ arrangement and a restructuring of a debt of NIS 2 billion following litigation.
