Profile

Shai is a partner and heads the firm’s Private Clients, Trusts and Estates department.

Shai’s legal specializations extend over a wide range of areas, including private clients, family wealth management, estate planning and inter-generational transfers, local and international business ventures, M&As, corporate law, financing, real estate and land taxation and more.

As of the mid-1990s, Shai has advised several of the largest real estate development companies in Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries.

Among others, Shai advised a US electronics conglomerate that acted as a sub-contractor on one of the largest infrastructure projects in Israel, Highway 6, the first smart toll road in the country.

For a number of years, Shai served as a Board Member of Pluristem Therapeutics, Inc., a company engaged in the development of biotherapy treatments and listed on both the Nasdaq (Nasdaq: PSTI) and Tel Aviv Stock Exchanges (TASE: PLTR).

In addition, since its inception, Shai has advised GTC S.A., the large foreign real estate development company in Eastern Europe – a company publicly traded on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in Poland. In the first decade of this century, Shai was a member of the company’s Supervisory Board.

For some twenty years, Shai has served as trustee and protector of various trusts in Israel and abroad.

Shai’s professional legal work has been recognized on more than one occasion in the world’s leading legal ranking guides. The international directory CityWealth, which reviews the field of high-net-worth and high net worth (HNWI and UHNWI) individuals, has, since 2012, consistently selected Adv. Pines as one of the leading attorneys in Israel in this developing field. Shai was also selected in the past as one of the leading attorneys in Israel in the field of M&As by the renowned international guide “Legal Experts”.

Shai is a member of the Board of Trustees of Tel Aviv University’s Faculty of Law, and a member of Tel Aviv University’s Friends Association. In his pro-bono practice Shai has advised several non-for-profit organizations and has served as member of the management committee of ICRF – Israel Cancer Research Fund.
