Profile

Eran is a partner and the head of EBN’s tax department, leading our tax practice with his extensive expertise in all areas of tax law, including international taxation and tax litigation. Eran represents multinational groups, public companies, private companies, high net worth individuals (foreign and Israelis), real estate investors, and investment funds.

Eran has vast experience representing and advising prominent Israeli and international clients in a wide array of tax matters, both domestic and cross-border, such as in connection with mergers and acquisitions, acquisitions and financing of Israeli and foreign companies, corporate reorganizations, real estate investments in Israel and abroad, formation of investment funds, and handling disputes before the tax authorities.

Eran has many years of experience advising a respectful roster of Israeli and foreign private clients in complex family estate planning involving numerous assets and holdings of all types, and requiring a deep knowledge in tax law pertaining to private individuals, family trusts, and intergenerational wealth transfers.

In addition, Eran provides full tax advice and representation to his clients in the various procedures before the tax authorities, including in connection with general submissions, assessment audits, pre-rulings, settlements, reduction of withholding tax, voluntary disclosure, and more.

Eran’s practice includes litigating complicated tax disputes arising from the numerous tax laws in Israel, and he frequently appears before the courts and tribunals on a wide variety of affairs, such as cross border corporate reorganizations, transfer pricing, property tax, government grants, and others.

Moreover, Eran advises investment funds in all matters related to fund formation, including the fund formation documents, as well as all other aspects of taxation for venture capital, private equity, real estate, and hedge funds.

Eran is a member of the faculty of the Tel Aviv University where he teaches international tax law. He is also the secretary of the Israeli branch of the International Fiscal Association and the treasurer of the Israeli branch of STEP. Eran also serves as a member of the tax committee of the Israeli Bar Association, and is a member of the council of the international tax studies at New York University.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining EBN, Eran was the co-managing partner of the tax department in one of the leading firms in Israel. Prior thereto, Eran studied international tax law at the law school of New York University where he lectured on tax law and aspects thereof on investment funds, and thereafter, Eran spent approximately four years practicing tax law in New York at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom.
